Real life

Okay for those of you that know me well you know I like to be clean and organized and have a beautifully decorated home (even on a shoestring budget). Well I read a lot of design blogs, even those home design blogs that tour "real" houses of people with small children. I always wonder why I can't seem to keep it looking good. I mean just the other day with one hand in a matter of seconds Dylan ripped off the door to my nightstand. Because I can't replace it for a long time, I now have to look at a broken door evgerytime I go to bed. Or Charlie who manages to slime everything from the side table to the top of the tall shelf (yes he's a climber). Anyway, as beautiful as these homes are on the blogs, I know they can't possibly ever look like that for more than a few moments. I came across this hilarious link to a blog of a "real" mom with small children and her take on the "real" home tours of people who manage to have a beautiful home and small children at the same time. It made me laugh and feel better about the way my home looks. I especially like her take on the living room. I feel this is a great depiction of how my living room looks on a daily basis. If you have kids or ever had small kids you'll get a good laugh out of this one. And for those of you who are yet to have small children a word of advice. Don't bother buying anything you love for you home until your children are grown. It's sure to get destroyed.

p.s. If you have a chance to read other posts on this blog, I highly recommend it. It's my life if I had time to write down all the ridiculous stuff that happens everyday.
